SAPA PEQUEŃA has a wide track of agriculture land, rolling hills and small valley located at south western part of the Municipality of Burgos. These past several years, silica mining had become additional source of income for the barangay. It is composed of seven (7) Sitios namely: Patad, Proper, Tuon Bakero, Dayasdas, Carling, Babaillian and Cadanglaan. The barangay is abundant with. Is can be reached by riding in tricycle, motorcycle, bicycle which are also means of transportation of the residents.

The Barangay was founded last 1828. The name was derived from the Spanish word “Pequeña” (meaning little) because there was a small creek that transverse through it from north to south, therefore the name Sapa Pequeña.\

VISION

Sapa Pequeña is a progressive and developed community inhabited by hardworking and peace-loving residents to sustain its environmental and eco-tourism balance.

 

MISSION

The barangay government of Sapa Pequeña, Burgos, Pangasinan shall implement peace and public safety plans, intensify tax collection, improve agriculture, encourage entrepreneurship, enhance clean & clean projects, sustain social services and further develop infrastructure facilities.

Every 5th day of April we celebrate the Barangay Fiesta of our Barangay Sapa Pequena, Burgos, Pangasinan.

Sapa Pequeńa has a total land area of 846.86 hectares with the boundaries of Barangay Cacayasen in the North, Barangay Allabon, Agno in the west Barangay Sapa Grande and Pogoruac in the south and Papallasen on the East. There is one (1) kilometer distance from the town proper to the boundary and a distance of approximately four (4) kilometres straight ahead to the provincial road going to Barangay Ilio-Ilio.

Sapa Pequeña is one of the 14 Barangays of Burgos, a 5th class municipality in the Province of Pangasinan. As it is abundant in agri-based products, the primary source of income is farming and livestock raising. Seasonal farming dictates the cropping of palay as they depend on rainy season for water source in the absence of irrigation system. It also has mining, buy and sell of bamboo and charcoal as other sources of income.

The barangay has 739 employed, 49 overseas workers, 58 self-employed and 310 temporary employed residents.
